What really pisses me off is the CCTVs keeping an eye on the Surveillance cameras.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
If there is no possibility of failure, then victory is meaningless.

Some people were thought to be brave just because they were too craven to run!

ἓν οἶδα ὅτι οὐδὲν οἶδα - I know that I know nothing

Δεν ελπίζω τίποτα. Δε φοβʊμαι τίποτα. Είμαι λεύτερος. - I hope nothing. I fear nothing. I am free.

Great fleas have little fleas upon their backs to bite 'em,
and little fleas have lesser fleas, and so ad infinitum.

and so it goes for CCTV cameras
"I don't have to know an answer. I don't feel frightened by not knowing things; by being lost in a mysterious universe without any purpose — which is the way it really is, as far as I can tell, possibly. It doesn't frighten me." ~ Richard Feynman
"One should always strive to make things as simple as possible - but no simpler" ~ Albert Einstein
"Tiny minds need to shrink the grand concepts of the universe until they fit the size of their tiny mind"

UK democracy:

The people decided that they need to spy on themselves by putting cameras everywhere. Because they don't trust themselves???

CCTVs were thought to be deterrent to anti-social behaviour. But no-one is watching the camera feeds all the time. They are used post-crime, to review what happened. So 99% of the time being caught on one doesnt even get seen. I dont know where the craze for CCTV started, though I remember it being used successfully to catch the London Nail Bomber, David Copeland.
