tbh i think the urban dictionary's definition is crap, i much more like wikipedia's "accidental sagacity", or as i've seen it described elsewhere "finding treasure without really looking for it"

the important thing to realise about serendipity is not only its accidental nature, but the ability to recognise its value once you've stumbled across it - so no pure luck here

jeyh... the etymology is also interesting... anyone have the tale?
If there is no possibility of failure, then victory is meaningless.

Some people were thought to be brave just because they were too craven to run!

ἓν οἶδα ὅτι οὐδὲν οἶδα - I know that I know nothing

Δεν ελπίζω τίποτα. Δε φοβʊμαι τίποτα. Είμαι λεύτερος. - I hope nothing. I fear nothing. I am free.

i know that Serendip was the old name for Sri Lanka
so i assume that serendipity somehow relates to a property of Sri Lanka or the fact of finding a paradisiacal place like Sri Lanka

well, timelessness sounds like a good word to me...

not if it's cromulent

nearly forgot this month's word of the month : forthwith

because it sounds stupid and is totally contrary to the campaign for plain english

feel free to add your own should you think of any

make up your mind - only one contribution per person per month
keep the rest in reserve for when the well runs dry

and no, we didn't have any your 2 suggestions yet
